Approved Testing
HEL Performance Products provided four complete brake hose assemblies for the purpose of being tested under controlled circumstances. These strict test reveal the outstanding strength of each line. All four "whip" tests were required to withstand a minimum whip time of 35 hours to pass. Each line was attached to the rig or testing machine, ensuring that they were not mounted in a twisted orientation. Water pressure was used to bleed the system of air before applying the correct amount of water pressure. Once this had been achieved, the timer was set to zero and the testing began. Failure of the lines by water leakage and/or subsequent loss of pressure was to terminate the test and stop the timer. Here are the results of the testing.

DOT TUV ADR compliance
HEL brake lines comply with all DOT, TUV, and ADR specifications.
After many years supplying both hoses and fittings to the major UK names in performance plumbing, HEL decided to launch a new system of motorcycle brake lines which did not compete directly with reusable brake line products. Since the introduction of the system, we have seen our competition come up with their own versions of the swaged brake line system. This has strengthened our original decision to offer a tamper evident, safer, permanently attached brake line fitting to the marketplace.

HEL (Hose-Equip Limited) Performance Products was established in 1985 as an authorised Aeroquip distributor and quickly gained a reputation in the Industrial, Marine, and Automotive Performance marketplace as a friendly approach to both quality and service. HEL Performance was the first company to offer only fully swaged ends in the UK and you can now see the rest of the industry following our lead by offering swaged ends as well. HEL was also the first manufacturer in the industry to offer a free pvc cover to protect the bodywork and paint on your motorcycle. We are also the first and still the only manufacturer in the world to offer colored stainless steel fittings as a safe replacement to the dangerous colored aluminum brake fittings. This photo is a prime example why we do not, nor should anyone use aluminum banjos for motorcycle brake lines.
In short....
HEL brakelines are manufactured of the highest quality stainless steel. The fittings are permanently swaged onto a hard drawn tensile stainless steel braided Teflon hose that is wrapped with a colored pvc cover to protect your bodywork and paint. This design eliminates that 'spongy' feeling often found when rubber hoses are under extreme braking conditions- when you need the performance the most. The stainless steel exterior provides excellent resistance to both corrosion and abrasion. The swaged fittings give a streamlined finish and a secure connection. Unlike most steel braided brake lines, HEL's permanately swaged stainless lines comply with all DOT, TUV, and ADR specifications for all on and off-road applications.
